les penn squall ii rods are a range of rods that have been designed to cover all styles of drifting and trolling from the boat, perfectly matched to the penn squall ii reels. the rods are constructed with a one-piece tubular fiberglass blank and a solid tip to help prevent breakage. the 3-legged seaguide guides in stainless steel with aluminium oxide are extremely durable and will ensure perfect line control during the fight even of the biggest bluefin tuna. for greater comfort, the squall ii boat rods feature a triangular-shaped front eva handle to reduce rod rotation under pressure. the heavy-duty graphite (on the 20-50 lb model) and the machined aluminium reel seats (other models) maintain a secure grip on the reel, while the gimbal provides increased resistance and a secure connection to the fighting belt during the fight. the smooth butt prevents the rod butt from being damaged in the rod holder, while the bent-butt models have a short angled aluminium butt, which also makes them very suitable for fighting a large fish in stand up.
