The BERKLEY brand was born in 1937 when Berkley Bedell, a 16-year-old American fishing enthusiast, began selling his handmade flies to shops and holiday fishermen. When its creator returned from his military service, the BERKLEY brand focused on the development of nylons and made it the first success of his business. In the 1960s, the BERKLEY brand started manufacturing fishing rods and started its international distribution in the 1970s. With growing success, the brand continued to develop and the first BERKLEY soft lure was born in the 1980s. The last decades, marked by innovation thanks to constant investment in research and development, have allowed the BERKLEY brand to develop fishing equipment in line with the expectations of increasingly meticulous fishermen.
