The spinnerbait is a lure originally made for fishing black bass, but European fishers quickly realized its high efficacy for pike as well; over the years this category has successfully integrated itself among all the other pike lures.

The effectiveness of the pike spinnerbait is largely due to its spinners, whose shimmering attract predators just as it does for the pike spoon lure. However, the main difference is that the hook on the spinner is always facing up, making it less prone to getting snagged on obstacles or in weeds than those equipped with a treble hook.
