It's not just about the lure, and in predator fishing rods, specific rods are needed for static fishing, in particular rods for live-bait pike fishing. Indeed, to cast further, heavier, a longer rod is needed than for lure fishing in general, and weight is no longer a criterion as the rod is no longer carried all day. Generally, it is a telescopic predator rod, more practical, 3 to 4 meters in length. The power for the pike is between 50 and 150 grams, for the zander with live bait it is lighter, 40/80 grams. Note that a small choice exists in France for fishing with dead static fish, these are often slightly less powerful carp rods, 3.60 meters in 2 sections most often, coming from the offer proposed to English fishers adept at this technique. The well-known brands making good live-bait rods are Daiwa, Garbolino, Mitchell or DAM etc.
