With the Delkim Txi-D and Rx-D, a new generation of alarms has arrived. And they are not just compact, redesigned versions... No, they've included some really cool new features and moved to a whole new digital system.
• Digital technology • Progressive sound depending on the speed of the bite • Digital radio signal • Adjustable LED brightness • Stealth mode • Instant day/night setting • Mute function • Advanced weather protection • 64 digital tones • Automatic shut-off • Memory for settings • Compact design
The alarms have truly been designed from scratch and include a new shape as well as improved weather protection. When you see the new alarms, you'll immediately notice that the compact heads now have push buttons instead of the old on/off switch. They can also be used to change various settings of the digital system.
Additionally, there are two wheels that handle the volume and sensitivity settings. So you set the sensitivity level to the value you want. You will increase or decrease the sensitivity. It's a bit like the old sensitivity change but with a big improvement. The Txi-D now features digital signal processing which has allowed Delkim to create another new setting called Beep Speed. There are 8 different beep speed levels. When using the previous Delkim, you already had plenty of room to play with the alarm sensitivity. But what tends to happen at the positive switch setting and higher sensitivity levels is that in some situations it can become a bit too lively. A slight pull could already create the 'chatter' for which the alarms are known. So it was difficult to hear the difference between a proper bite or even a simple pull. You knew you had a bite and it was more accurate than the magnetic wheels but not yet optimal in our view.
During development, Beep Speed was one of the key features and Delkim managed to create something revolutionary. The alarms will be set the same way as previous Txi alarms. The Txi-D gives you the option to customise and change it as you wish so that it makes even more of vibration detection. If you lower the beep speed, the alarm can still be used in a sensitive setting, but without immediately turning into 'chatter'. You decrease the beep speed according to your personal preferences and the situation.
The new Txi-D alarms also offer the ability to change LED brightness, switch from a day to a night setting and set the tone with 64 options to choose from. And there is even a patented IMU motion security sensor built into the head that helps secure your setup. If someone tries to move the alarm, it will trigger the anti-theft alarm on the receiver.
Of course, it is not only the alarms that have been changed. The new Rx-D receiver also operates in full digital mode and offers increased range, battery life and performance. And there are also nice features added to the compact receiver. One of them is NPD. It is the abbreviation of 'Do Not Disturb' and it is for situations where suddenly a storm arrives, the wind starts blowing hard and the rain begins to fall. To avoid false beeps without having to leave the comfort of your bivvy, you can easily press the buttons to turn on the NPD. From now on, all individual beeps will be ignored, but when an activation lasts 4 seconds or more, the receiver will give you a normal indication.
Another new setting is Runlight. When you get a bite like a single beep nothing will happen. But when it sounds for 4 seconds or more, all the LEDs light up to give you plenty of light to find the essentials before leaving the bivvy.
The receiver now has 3 different range levels. It is ready to use, set to the normal everyday mode, which gives you plenty of coverage. In direct line of sight, it has been tested at over 700 metres, although we do not recommend being that far from your rods. Of course, conditions at the water's edge will impact the overall fishing range, but you can be sure to do what you want without missing a bite.
A short-range option has also been added. By turning it on, you reduce the receiver's range to about 50 metres. Perfect for when you are close to the rods. Using the short-range option will also maximise your battery life. You can also choose to put the range in Boost mode. This gives you an extra 15 to 20% range compared to normal mode and gives you more space in case you need to be further away from the rods while, for example, in an emergency. As this will use more battery, it will automatically switch off after 15 minutes.
The alarm and receiver both come with moulded cases and accessories such as a braided cord, a belt clip and a spike clip.
All Delkim visual indicator systems work with the Txi-D but it has dedicated D-lok and Safe-D bars.
