The Takumi PE is a 4-strand braid highly resistant to abrasion. Baitcasting enthusiasts will love it: with 8-strand braids, especially thin ones, birdnests are almost inevitable. The Takumi PE solves this problem.
INFO: At Momoi, we no longer specify the diameter of braids, but only the PE value. Here's why:
The diameter of a braid cannot be accurately measured due to its irregular section.
Most competitors advertise unrealistic figures: in reality, their braids are thicker or less resistant than indicated. Many anglers fall for these values. We prefer to stay honest and not encourage skewed comparisons.
The Japanese PE classifies braids according to their actual weight, not their resistance. Specifically, two braids with the same weight for an identical length belong to the same PE class. Japanese manufacturers rely on reference tables to establish this ranking. In practice, the PE value provides a much more reliable indication of the thinness of a braid, even without direct measurement of the diameter.
