The dusky grouper (Epinephelus marginatus) is a large marine fish found in the shallow European waters of the Bay of Biscay, the Mediterranean and North Africa. It is a solitary fish and an ambush predator, preferring habitat full of nooks and crannies to hide while waiting for its prey. It feeds mainly on crustaceans, molluscs and fish. The species is highly prized for its flavor and is a very popular fish among rod anglers.
