The Engetsu BB rod is designed for light madai jig fishing. The special TAFTEC Alpha tip provides high sensitivity and the rod's progressive bend enhances the lure-tail action. Spiral-mounted guides reduce twist and improve responsiveness.

Madai jig and Tai Rubber fishing originated in Asia and are a fantastic way to catch wary marine predators. Currently underused in European waters, this technique has enormous potential that some anglers are beginning to exploit. If you want to get into this exciting yet relatively simple form of fishing, the Engetsu BB, chosen from Shimano's prestigious JDM collection, offers an excellent combination of quality and performance. Very sensitive and lightweight, the Engetsu BB's soft tip and powerful butt create the perfect lure action when used correctly in coastal currents.

The Engetsu BB is built on a sensitive high-modulus carbon blank, enhanced with Hi-Power X technology to reduce blank twist and deliver the proper action for madai jig fishing. The soft mid-section cushions sudden movements of the rod or reel, ensuring the lure's rubber tail works to its full potential when slowly retrieved from the bottom. The inclusion of a sensitive TAFTEC Alpha tip highlights tentative bites and maximizes transmission of every lure movement. Fitted with lightweight Fuji SiC K-type guides, spiral-mounted to improve the rod's action, the Engetsu features a Shimano X reel seat suited to small spinning reels or baitcasting reels and a two-piece EVA handle.
