We designed the Pike Trapper series primarily for ledgering or dead-bait fishing with bottom rigs. Pike is clearly at the heart of this range of rods. Compared with carp rods, we have focused on a fast action, stiff blanks and more powerful tips. After all, when fishing for pike, everything comes down to the bite. During the fight, each Pike Trapper nevertheless reveals its semi-parabolic action, capable of cushioning the pike’s runs without any problem, even at close range. The rubber and cork handle is not only stylish, it is also extremely robust and offers excellent grip. We deliberately accepted this additional weight compared with cork or EVA, because it is located precisely around the handle and therefore makes the Pike Trapper rods even more balanced. The 380 cm, 3.50 lb Pike Trapper is designed for ledgering with modern bottom rigs, as well as for long casts. If you place your rigs more than 100 metres away by boat, you will appreciate the performance of these longer rods, both when detecting the bite and during the fight.
