The W3 Smokey Grey braid has been developed for sea trout fishermen and sea fishermen looking for an excellent braid. Our innovative construction allows us to obtain a line that combines maximum resistance to abrasion with a very smooth surface. The W3 Smokey Grey braid is made from premium ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMPE) fibres from Japan, with an 8X design. The W3 Smokey Grey braid uses a construction with 32 braids per inch for a smoother surface and increased abrasion resistance. Sea and salt water trout fishermen require a line with extra stiffness to avoid wind knots caused by repeated casts in often violent land winds. To achieve this, the W3 Smokey Grey is equipped with a double Dura-Coating coating that gives the line greater rigidity. The Dura-Coating gel process gives the braid a smoother and hydrophobic surface, reducing water absorption and friction. For maximum colour stability, the W3 Smokey Grey is dipped in dye vats before being oven dried to "bake" the pigment and finally sealed by a double gel-coat for better longevity.
