the ws light is a short to mid-length fishing jacket, waterproof and breathable. ideal for wade fishing.
the ws jacket range consists of three different models, short and mid-length. as their names suggest, each is designed for a specific user.

our priority when designing the ws light was to reduce weight without compromising lifespan, waterproofing or functionality. the Taslan polyamide outer fabric is the same we have used for over 20 years. the outer fabric is coated with our membrane system fabric, thus ensuring optimal waterproofing and breathability.
how do we lighten it? first, by using a much lighter fabric where the heavier outer is not essential, such as the pockets, the hood and the collar. then, by limiting folds and overlaps. without compromising waterproofing and durability, the ws light weighs 20% less than the other two short jackets in the range.
to meet expectations, we feel it is important to mention the trade-off that lightness implies. this may be limited to a single element: pocket design. the ws light is not ideal if you require lots of storage. to get the most from the lightness, you need to adapt what you carry to your needs.
here's what I think – a word from the designer: ws light is above all light and hardly restricts my freedom of movement. it's the closest feeling to the lightness I usually get with a lightweight rain jacket. to stay light and make full use of the jacket's potential, I opted for the magnets and tools geoff anderson wiztool, along with compact, proportionate storage. by adapting the contents I not only limit weight, but also improve overall functionality.
the ws light offers an unrivalled weight/performance balance. in simple terms, the ws light is a "bulldozer in disguise".
i never think about the weather or the physical challenge ahead. that's the point of a lighter shell that has all the qualities of the "older, heavier gear". to improve our environmental impact, I focused on four design priorities:

we take care of you and nature: the ws light is a tough, durable jacket, and the choice of materials gives it a longer lifespan than most other lightweight jackets. we believe a long lifespan is the best thing you can do for the environment; you can help by following the care instructions for your jacket. all spare parts are oeko-tex certified and of the highest quality for optimal durability. from the design stage we have planned for easy, and in many cases local, repairs. at end of life we have prepared a reuse plan. a solution for a new life. we do everything we can to ensure the jacket doesn't end up in the bin, but that all reusable parts are reused.
