The Long Chuck Tapered Mainline was designed for long-distance casting in situations where you want to fish straight without a leader knot - particularly useful in areas with weedbeds where they can build up around the knot and cause problems at your tip ring. The Long Chuck Tapered mainline body is supplied on a 300-metre spool and includes at each end an 8-metre section of 0,47 mm (30 lb) diameter line designed to withstand the force of the cast - while offering good abrasion resistance when fighting a fish - as well as a 2-metre section that tapers down to the diameter of the main line you have chosen. It is identical at both ends, so if you break off you can simply reverse the line on your spool and use it again. This tapered line body has the same properties as the Long Chuck mainline body, with very low stretch to help load the rod (heavy monos are generally quite stretchy and hinder casting); low water absorption; a light weight for its breaking strength, because it is clear (dyes add weight), so it stays in the air longer; and a high breaking-strength-to-diameter ratio to reduce drag.
