Lighter, more compact and more precise, the technological achievements accomplished by Daiwa engineers give birth to a product that surpasses all anglers' expectations for new sensations.

LIGHT & TOUGH
A reel that is both Light and Powerful. Isn't that the ultimate wish of every fishing enthusiast? This LT concept redefines the design of the Certate by reducing weight on every component. The idea of Daiwa's engineers in Japan was to design the best "Formula 1" by breaking the compromises between lightness and lifespan. The Certate LT 2019 was born.

MONOCOQUE BODY
The Monocoque structure features an aluminum frame designed to resist twisting and flexing while becoming slimmer and optimizing the internal space for the drive gear and the mechanism. With the space savings achieved at the screwwork level, the size of the gear system relative to the body volume has been extended to the technical limits. The larger-diameter drive gear now occupies 85% of the Monocoque body's total space. This technology optimizes the advantages of the Concept LT, both in terms of weight savings and power. The Certate LT 2019 adopts an aluminum body with high-precision machining and increased durability.

TOUGH DIGIGEAR
This gear technology offers increased and long-lasting smoothness of rotation. When fishing, the pleasure reaches its peak from the very first turns of the handle. At the slightest touch of the handle with the fingertips, the rotor starts to rotate. The Tough Digigear drive gear is produced by cold forging and cutting on a high-precision CNC machine. This engineering provides an extremely quiet rotation.

MAGSEALED
Anglers exposed to marine elements, sea spray and other corrosive environments demand that the reel's performance be maintained in all circumstances. Sealing a rotating structure such as the rotor was a challenge Daiwa met in 2010 and has optimized year after year. To seal the rotating structure — the rotor — against the body, the seal is made from a magnetic oil called MagSealed. This oil is held in a magnetic field and prevents the intrusion of water and dust into the mechanism. The Certate LT 2019 features a one-piece structure with no welds or side plates that offers high sealing. That is why MagSealed is additionally applied to the pinion and the pickup roller for a reel that is overall sealed against water ingress. The spool structure has been revised to increase its impermeability compared to the previous series (Certate 2016).
