The Torium is the flagship of Shimano's revolving-spool reel range with a star drag, at a mid-range price. The lightweight, compact construction and the high 6.2:1 ratio allow you to use the Torium for a wide range of methods, including jigging, bottom fishing and even casting large lures and sinkers.
If you are looking for a small, reliable and high-performance Shimano conventional reel, the Torium is an excellent option and offers exceptional versatility for a wide range of fishing techniques. Available in left- and right-hand handle options, the fast retrieve is ideal if you are a fan of deep-water fishing or squid jigging, with more than enough power to overcome the largest bottom predators. You can also pair it with a lighter rod for slow jigging or even cast it with lures and larger baits.
As soon as you hold the Torium, you can feel the build quality delivered by the lightweight HAGANE body. It is solid and durable, while being very compact thanks to the S Compact housing design. In fact, its visual size belies the power and line capacity of this perfectly formed, super-fast multiplier. With a 6.2:1 ratio, all sizes, except the smallest size 14, retrieve well over one meter of line per turn. Thanks to the large Cross Carbon Drag washers, adjusted by the Star Drag, the Torium features an 11 kg drag, making it an ideal partner for all pelagic fish except the largest.
