Designed for trolling tuna fishing in the Mediterranean, the Vengeance Stand-Up Spiral is a very affordable rod fitted with a unique spiral guide setup that greatly improves playing action under extreme pressure. Do not be fooled by the affordable price of the Vengeance Stand-Up Spiral. It may be our entry-level stand-up rod, but it has all the power of Shimano's high-end rods. These unique rods were designed by Mediterranean tuna experts to give you an affordable trolling solution. They feature spiral guides that wrap around the rod to allow the line to follow the curve of the fight. When bent, the line is held away from the blank by the guide placement, producing better action with minimal lateral twist, allowing you to apply maximum pressure. With a name like Vengeance, you know the blank will be up to every challenge it faces. And it has to be, because nothing in the Mediterranean fights with the power, speed and determination of an angry tuna. Fitted with very durable Shimano Hardlite guides, which can withstand the pressure of thinner monofilaments and braided lines, a Shimano aluminium reel seat will hold your reel securely, allowing you to push against the handle with confidence. Despite their unquestionable solidity, both models in the Vengeance range retain excellent fishing performance under extreme pressure, and in tests they compared very favourably to much more expensive rods. Available in 50lb and 80lb, the one-piece seamless design is never overloaded and retains extra flex even when you push it to the limit. An ergonomic EVA handle keeps you fully connected even when the pressure is at its maximum.
