Over the past two decades the development of Saltiga reels has been continuously driven by a desire to offer the very best for heavy-duty fishing.

This 25 Saltiga model is no exception to that rule and today pushes limits never before reached.

Equipped with the recent exclusive and revolutionary POWERDRIVE DESIGN technology, this reel has been engineered without compromise on power and robustness for incredible performance in the most extreme fishing conditions.

POWERDRIVE DESIGN :
This new generation of large spinning reels has been designed to deliver rock-solid reliability, allowing anglers to target the biggest fish in the world.

The AIRDRIVE DESIGN enhances and reinforces smoothness of use while making no compromise on robustness. AIRDRIVE DESIGN is systematically applied to reels that require a balance between lightness and strength.

By contrast, POWERDRIVE DESIGN is completely centered on power. POWERDRIVE ENGINE technology is at the heart of the reel body, where all the power is generated. POWERDRIVE ROTOR technology supports the front section to harmonize the transfer of force.

POWERDRIVE ENGINE :
The [POWERDRIVE Engine] body includes the [Oversized Power Digigear] and [Roller Power Oscillation] technologies

POWER AND ROBUSTNESS TO MAXIMIZE CONFIDENCE :
The OVERSIZE POWER DIGIGEAR is made from G1 duralumin offering high durability. Coupled with the Monocoque Body concept, which allows the use of a larger-diameter and thicker gear, the drive wheel is approximately 10% larger and 6% thicker than on previous Saltiga models.

[ ROLLER POWER OSCILLATION ] :
At the main shaft level, the slide has been replaced by ball bearings, improving oscillation efficiency by about 30%, ensuring smoothness and lightness even under heavy load.

[ POWERDRIVE ROTOR ] :
This new rotor design improves the rigidity and balance of the reel. With its unique spherical shape that favors retrieval, this essential part of the reel is now 7% stiffer. The power of this new rotor notably increases the robustness and durability of the 25 SALTIGA.

[ CRANK POWER BAIL ] :
The new pick-up arm has been designed to better guide the line.
Improved management of line tension as it exits the pick-up is an important factor for jigging or live-bait fishing.

Excellent positioning of the braid on the roller prevents tension variations.

[ TOUGH LINE ROLLER SYSTEM ] :
The pick-up roller, which is subjected to very high stresses during fishing, has been redesigned to be wider.
Realigned, it is now held in a sleeved section that provides improved support.

[ FREIN DRD ] :
Up to size 14 000, the drag discs are made from reliable WASHER carbon washers. DRD technology is available for sizes 18 000 and above.
This drag is equipped with roller pads that favor engagement on very large pulls and reduce friction and resistance between the discs to greatly improve progressive action.

While Daiwa's carbon drags are durable, the DRD system is a new, even higher-performing technology designed for fishing large specimens.
The drag withstands 5x more and its adjustment remains constant.

Oval-shaped or round-shaped handles specifically designed for use at sea.
