The Aero X1 is a high-quality entry-level long pole that offers excellent value for money and great functionality. Available in 10 metres and 11.5 metres (pole only) and 11.5 metres (pack) and suited to carp and coarse fish, it is the ideal pole for anglers who do not need the full length of a longer, more expensive model. Ideal for anglers who are getting serious about long-pole fishing, the Aero X1 top kits are compatible with the entire Aero pole range and extensions are available.
If you are new to long-pole fishing, or if you own a basic pole and want to move up to a higher-performing pole, the Aero X1

is a convincing proposition. Thanks to its 10-metre or 11.5-metre length, the initial cost of acquiring a quality pole is easier to manage, with the advantage of being able to add additional extensions at a later date. Built from high-quality Japanese carbon (a very similar blend to that of the X5), the X1 is very well balanced, light and stiff, even when fished at full length. If you mainly fish for carp and small carp, the Aero X1 is an excellent choice when fitted with the Super Power Kit and it can cope with heavy elastics and very combative fish. Fit the lighter Super Match Kit and it will immediately improve your coarse fishing on lakes and rivers.

The versatile performance of the Aero X1 Competition directly benefits from the development programme used when designing the Aero Pro. The combination of high-quality Japanese carbon and advanced cones makes it an excellent choice if you are looking for versatility and strength at an affordable price. The Aero X1 features a series of characteristics that reinforce Shimano's commitment to producing the best, whatever the price. The Aero Joint is a reinforcement that improves longevity, the Aero Alignment System maximises rigidity and the Shimano Ultra Sound Finish ensures super-smooth action in all conditions. In addition, all stated lengths are perfectly accurate when extensions are fitted, so you can be sure you're getting your money's worth. You will also notice that reinforcement strips have been integrated into the top kits, allowing you to fit the extraction kit of your choice. Finally, the larger sections are not interchangeable with the more expensive Aero X5, X7 or Pro poles, but the top kits are, which allows you to buy additional kits to complete the excellent value X1 pole set.
