The amberjack (Seriola dumerili) is a large predatory saltwater fish. The species is endemic to most coastal areas of nearly all warm waters in both hemispheres. It prefers rocky ledges or reefs where it feeds on fish, crustaceans and mollusks. It can reach 2 meters in length and is characterized by an amber-colored band that runs along its body. It is a very popular fish among anglers because of its size and endurance.
