At Momoi, we no longer communicate diameter for our braids, only PE value. Here's why:

• The diameter of a braid cannot be measured accurately due to its irregular section.

• The majority of competitors state unrealistic values. In reality, most of their braids are thicker or weaker than advertised. Many anglers are misled by these figures. We prefer not to engage in this game and stay honest.
• Japanese PE categorises braids according to their actual weight, not their strength. Specifically, two braids of the same weight for the same length belong to the same PE class. Japanese manufacturers use reference tables to determine these classes. In practice, the PE value provides a much more reliable indication of a braid's fineness, even without a direct measurement of the diameter.
